I created this illustration for my latest Youtube video. I used Photoshop to "doll it up" a little bit for my gallery here at DA, but you can see all the line art as it's created by watching the video:
very useful, my friend linked me to your "100 ways to draw manga eyes" image on here and from there i followed the links onto youtube and found you tutorial for this, very useful for me since i'm working with a more stylized type of imagery this semester, but i never did establish a good type of eyes, it's a toss up between 1 and 4, as well as 3 on your 100 ways image.
couple questions if you don't mind, what kind of tools did you use in the video to do this, and is number 3 from the 100 ways, meant to be used for male or female characters?
By God, what kind of scanner do you use? Those are some of the best darn pencil lines I've seen scanned in! My scanner's the worst at pencil lines. It hardly handles inked lines. Maybe I just need to crank the DPI up to 1200 and watch my computer suffer trying to handle the image...
I just watched your video about this one You're so good! My male characters always end up looking more like females, it's hard for me to make them really look like men
I like Hiro's eyes the most in this drawing. Small highlight and shading makes them look nice
