Oh wow... this is absolutely beautiful... I love your drawings of Miki, they're amazing! And I'm very glad to know that you didn't leave Miki alone after finishing the series... I only wish there was something else you could do with Miki so there would be more books! I always felt a real connection with Miki, more than any character from anything else I've ever been interested in. You just made her seem so real!
i like that picture you drew on youtube where miki was in the rain.. same picture.. was truely beautiful and i have to say well done for everything u have drew.. you have helped me through your line by line drawings and your videos on how to draw eyes male and female.. i left you a message and im waiting for a reply.. question was if u were going to make a video on how to perfect a finished drawing on photoshop as i feel this would help me with some of my own drawings of my baby and stuff, also a video on how to draw noses and mouths together would really help me.. you may not have the time but i appreciate every video you do make keep making videos please, never ever stop!!! I love to sit and draw for hours ^.^
geez... people have to freakin' get over the fact the head is out of proportion and the whole perspective thing is f*cked up. ask yourself if he intended everything to be this or that way in the first place. overall its a great piece. i noticed the head being slightly big, but i wouldn't of questioned it being wrong. and finally perspective is universal, meaning it can be anything. if everything were to fall in the same rules bullsh*t basis then how boring is that.
I have to agree with the others when they say that Miki's head is a bit too big in comparison...
But I really like what you've got going here with the blues and the stars. The angle of the trees makes the composition a bit more dynamic, and I LOVE the stars. The moon also looks like it's really glowing, which is a great effect. It's nice how the blues on Miki are a bit more neutral than the blues of the background - it keeps her from blending in too much, but not to the point where the contrast is jarring. Awesome idea
The artwork in this piece is very nice.^^ However, I think what seems so 'off' about Miki is the fact that her perspective doesn't match with the background. Also, the composition seems a bit unbalanced. It may be just me, but her head seems a bit large as well. Perhaps just lining up the perspective of the trees with Miki's perspective could remedy most of the 'off'-ness?
her stricken expression is a really fascinating and jarring (in a good way) surprise considering the superficial appearance of tranquility and beauty in the night sky. it makes the viewer wonder about a deeper significance in the state of the enormous brilliant moon. i love the crosshatching, on a more technical level. i feel like you've also made a gentler stylistic shift, to a less stylized and more "naturalistic" manga rendering of a profile. all compelling.
i'm actually surprised that everyone else seems to dislike this. i actually think the more saccharine pieces where she is clearly happy or clearly sad, in correlation with an environment, are much less interesting than this piece. i love the irony and the tension. but that's just me, i guess.
Very nice. From the moon and the stars to the shadowy trees. Everything looks good. However.....I can't help but notice that something seems a bit off with miki. I can't put my finger on it...but something seems off.
